The only constants in this world are death, taxes and Netflix releasing a new movie every week.

In January, Netflix promised to release a new movie every week by 2021. So far they haven’t missed anything. They will continue this incredible schedule of outings throughout the summer. The company’s full summer schedule includes Zack Snyder’s zombie heist film Army of the Dead, Amy Adams’ thriller Woman in the Window, a revisionist animated film about American history from Phil Lord and Chris Miller called America: Motion Picture, and a remake with a sex swap She’s All That. Plus a few other films.

Here’s everything Netflix has announced for its 2021 summer movie season:

April

29. April – Heard and seen.

A Manhattan couple moves to a historic village in the Hudson Valley and discovers a strange darkness in their marriage that parallels the history of their new home. Based on the famous novel by Elizabeth Brundage.

30. April – Mitchells versus machines.

Sony’s The Mitchells vs. The Machines is an original animated comedy about a family’s daily struggle to stay connected as technology advances around the world! When creative misfit Katie Mitchell (played by Abbi Jacobson) is accepted into her dream film school, her plans to meet her parents in college are thrown out the window when her nature-loving father Rick (played by Danny McBride) decides that the whole family should take Katie to school together one last time and stick together as a family.

7. May – The Beast

Monster tells the story of Steve Harmon (Calvin Harrison Jr.), a model seventeen-year-old student whose world collapses around him when he is accused of a serious murder. The film follows his dramatic journey from a smart, attractive student from Harlem who attends an elite high school, to a complicated court case that could land him in prison for the rest of his life.

12. May – Oxygen

Oxygen is a French survival thriller directed by Alexandre Aja. The film tells the story of a young woman (Mélanie Laurent, 6 Underground, Inglourious Basterds) who wakes up in a cryogenic capsule. She doesn’t remember who she is or how she got there. When her oxygen runs out, she must regain her memory to get out of her nightmare.

14. May – The woman at the window

Trapped by her agoraphobia, Anna Fox watches her new family from the window of her New York home. After witnessing a brutal crime, secrets begin to unravel and nothing and no one is what they seem.

21. May – The Army of the Dead

After a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries moves into a quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist of all time.

26. May – Baggio : The divine cock

A chronicle of football star Roberto Baggio’s 22-year career, including his difficult start as a player and his major disagreements with some of his coaches.

26. May – Ghost Lab

An investigation into the afterlife fails when Glarus and Vee, two doctor friends, see a ghost with their own eyes for the first time. This encounter sets in motion an insatiable desire to find a scientific explanation for ghosts and evidence of life after death. His obsessive and reckless quest for knowledge will take him down a rabbit hole that will cost him his friendships and loved ones.

27. May – Wonderful Blue

The incredible true story of Casa Hogar, a Mexican boy’s home that competed in the world’s largest fishing tournament to save his childhood home.

June

2. June – Carnival

After a video surfaced of her boyfriend cheating on her, 23-year-old Nina uses her digital connections to get an all-expense paid trip to El Salvador with her three best friends during Carnival.

9. June – Wake up

After a mysterious catastrophe wipes out all electronic devices and robs humanity of sleep, a worldwide hysteria breaks out. Scientists are vying against time to find a cure for unexplained insomnia before its fatal consequences destroy humanity. When Jill, a former soldier, discovers that her young daughter could be the key to salvation, she must choose: protect her children at all costs or sacrifice everything to save the world.

11. June – The Dragon of Desire

In Sony Pictures’ animated film Dragon of Wishes, Dean, a working class student with big dreams but few resources, and Long, a cynical but omnipotent dragon who can grant wishes, embark on a hilarious adventure through modern Shanghai in search of Lina Dean, a long lost childhood friend. Their journey forces them to answer some of life’s biggest questions – because when you can wish for anything, you have to decide what really matters.

11. June – Skate girl

Prerna, a teenager growing up in rural India, comes of age when she starts skateboarding. So she has to fight against all odds to achieve her dream and participate in the national championship.

18. June – Yagame Tandhiram

British crime boss Peter Sprott needs a rival adrift, and the best man for the job is Suruli, a Tamil gangster from Madurai. Suruli arrives in London and is faced with dilemmas about home, family and belonging – things the carefree criminal has never had to deal with before.

18. June – Fatherhood

In this heartbreaking, funny and emotionally true story, Kevin Hart takes on one of the toughest jobs in the world as a widower: fatherhood.

23. June – Good on paper

After years of putting her career before love, actress Andrea Singer has found the perfect man. On paper it meets all the criteria, but is it what it seems?

25. June – Ice Road

After the collapse of a remote diamond mine in the far north of Canada, a great ice rider (Neeson) must lead an impossible rescue mission across the frozen ocean to save the trapped miners. Faced with melting water and a severe storm, they discover a real threat they’ve never seen before.

30. June – America : The Movie

In this revisionist animated story, chainsaw-wielding George Washington assembles a team of heavyweights – including his brother Sam Adams, beer-drinking scientist Thomas Edison, famous horseman Paul Revere, and the very bad Geronimo – to defeat Benedict Arnold and King James in the American Revolution. Who will win? Nobody knows, but you can be sure of one thing: It’s not your father’s… Fathers.

June – House of Flowers : Movie

While waiting for a delicate operation, Delia reveals a secret to Paulina: In his parents’ bedroom is a hiding place that holds, among other things, the family treasure and the evidence against Agustin Corcuera, who has just been released from prison for Pato’s murder. By tricking them, Paulina convinces the brothers to bypass the security measures of their former home and recover the treasure. Their plan unfolds at the same time that Virginia and Ernesto execute their plan to get Agustin’s approval in the 1980s. His love for his nanny and the opportunity to avenge his family force de la Mora to break all the rules to accomplish this seemingly impossible mission.

July

29. July – Love Resort

A romantic comedy about aspiring pop star Erika who, after a hesitant performance on a luxury island, ends up at her ex-fiancé’s wedding while her music career falls apart. She tries to hide her past relationship from his future wife Beverly, but Erica rediscovers her feelings for Jason’s ex, despite her brother Caleb’s attempts to keep her from falling in love again. In this warm and funny romantic story that explores the bonds of love and family, the question soon becomes: Will Erica sing at Beverly’s wedding – or hers?

30. July – The last mercenary

A mysterious former intelligence agent must rush back to France when his estranged son is falsely accused by the government of arms and drug trafficking after an overzealous bureaucrat and a mafia operation end in failure.

July – Bloody Sky

A woman suffering from a mysterious illness is forced into action when a group of terrorists attempt to hijack an overnight transatlantic flight. To protect her son, she must reveal a dark secret and free the vampire she fought from within to escape.

July – Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans

In Dreamworks Troll Hunters: Rise of the Titans makes Arcadia look like an ordinary city, but it is the center of magical and mystical bloodlines, making it the center of many battles between otherworldly creatures, including trolls, aliens, and wizards. The heroes of the popular Trollhunters series, 3Below and the Wizards, have joined forces in their most epic adventure yet, where they must battle the Arcane Order to control the magic that binds them all.

July – The Last Letter from Your Lover….

THE LAST LETTER FROM YOUR LOVE is a story intertwined with the present and the past. The film follows Ellie Haworth (Felicity Jones), an ambitious journalist who discovers a treasure trove of secret love letters from 1965 and is determined to unravel the mystery of the forbidden romance. When she discovers the story of Jennifer Stirling (Shailene Woodley), the wife of a wealthy industrialist, and Anthony O’Hara (Callum Turner), a financial journalist appointed to cover the case, Ellie’s love affair begins with the help of a sincere and charming archivist (Nabhaan Rizwan) who helps her track down more letters. Based on the novel by Joe Joe Moyes and directed by Augustine Frizzell.

He’s All This is a reenactment of the original plot of the 1999 teen classic She’s All This. Modern History follows a powerful man (Addison Ray) who takes on the challenge of turning the biggest loser in school (Tanner Buchanan) into the prom king.

A couple on holiday become embroiled in a violent conspiracy with tragic consequences.
