Roma Battle Beginning of life
Stride was born in Zothermer, in the south of the Netherlands. She has a sister, Es Streed. When she was 13, she met a Scout in Amsterdam and refused to go because she was too nervous and had other dreams. Two years later, at the age of 15, she wanted to try her hand at modelling and was signed by the DNA Models agency in 2011. She left school to become a model, but returned to the Netherlands at the age of 17 to finish her studies because her career was overwhelming and she missed her home. After taking a break from modeling, she realized her love for modeling and moved to New York City after graduation.

Romy started her modelling career at the age of 14. She was first seen by a modelling agency when she went shopping with her mother in Amsterdam. Initially it showed little interest in the offer, but later it was accepted. In 2011 Romy signed a contract with the leading DNA Model Management agency. Romy’s first assignments as a model helped her improve her position in the industry and move up the career ladder. Her first season as a model consisted of commissions from designers and brands such as Jil Sander, Prada, Burberry and Louis Vuitton.
In 2014, Romy led her next major modelling campaign when she was chosen as the track model for the famous Victoria’s Secret line of luxury lingerie and bedroom accessories. The show strengthened her modeling career. The following year Romy was called Victoria’s secret angel. She opened many doors in the modelling world for Romy. Later she worked for many world famous designers and fashion brands such as Alexander McQueen, Badgley Mischka, Balmain, Calvin Klein, Celine, Christopher Kane, Donna Karan, EDUN, Giambattista Valli, Hussein Chalayan, Isabelle Marant, Jill Stewart, Kenzo, Louis, Marchesa, Michael Kors, Nina Ricci, Peter Som, Philip Lim, Prabal Gurung, Rug & Bone, Rosha, Roland Mu, Romy were among the models in the first edition of Dutch Vogue.’
Since then she has appeared in several other fashion magazines such as Vogue (British, German and Spanish), Elle (French and Dutch), Harper’s Bazaar (Spanish), Marie Claire (Dutch) and Madame Figaro. In February 2016, Romy was unveiled as the face of the recently launched XO Victoria Secret fragrance.
In 2017 Romy signed a contract with IMG Models Management as his own model. She spread the word about her contribution to Instagram. Romy’s profile on Instagram has over four million followers.
